From milestone to invoice
The invoice belongs to the client and project. The milestone gives it the commercial context and its amount, and the payments you record decide its status — all visible in the project history.

Build the invoice
You control the details that matter, grouped by how an invoice comes together.
Invoice identity
Invoice number & title
Give each invoice a number and a title so it’s easy to reference later.
Due date
Set when payment is expected — the due date also drives the overdue status.
Client, project & milestone
An invoice belongs to a client, and can be tied to a project and the milestone it bills for.
Charges
Line items
Add line items with a name, quantity and unit price; each line total and the subtotal are calculated for you.
Tax (GST)
Apply a GST percentage when you need it, and it’s reflected in the invoice total and the PDF.
Currency
Choose the currency per invoice — INR, USD, GBP, EUR, AED, AUD, CAD or SGD.
Instructions & output
Notes & payment details
Add notes and your payment instructions so the client knows exactly how to pay.
Preview & PDF
Preview the invoice and download it as a PDF built from the same record.
Public share link
Share a link the client can open without an account, showing the same invoice data.
You can also populate line items from a saved template, and edit an invoice after creating it.
A rebuilt invoice vs. an invoice that stays attached
The value isn’t importing from other apps — it’s that the invoice keeps its client, project and payment context inside Remex.
When every invoice starts from scratch
- Client details are copied again
- The milestone amount is retyped
- Due dates are kept separately
- Payment status lives in another sheet
- The invoice and project drift apart
- Follow-up context is pieced together from messages
When the invoice stays attached
- Client and project context stay with it
- The milestone amount carries in
- Status reflects the payments you record
- Partial payments stay part of the same record
- PDF and public view come from one invoice
- Payment history stays with the invoice
Invoice status you can understand
Status is based on the invoice details and the payments you record in Remex — not on a bank connection.
Draft
Created but not yet marked as sent.
Sent
Issued to the client, with the full amount still outstanding.
Partial
Some payment has been recorded; a balance remains.
Overdue
The due date has passed and a balance is still outstanding.
Paid
Recorded payments cover the invoice total.
Record full and partial payments
Remex helps you record and track payments against an invoice. It does not process transactions or connect to your bank — you log what you receive, and the invoice reflects it.
- Record a full or partial payment against an invoice
- Capture the amount, payment date and method
- See the outstanding balance update automatically
- Status moves to partial or paid based on what you record
- Payments stay attached to the invoice as a history
Preview, download and share
One invoice record, used across every format — so the numbers always match.

PDF download
Download a PDF generated from the same invoice record.
Public link
Share a link your client opens without an account, showing the same data.
What you stop repeating
Instead of: Copying client details into every document
You can: Use the client already connected to the invoice
Instead of: Retyping a milestone amount
You can: Create the invoice from the relevant milestone, with the amount carried over
Instead of: Checking a separate payment spreadsheet
You can: Record payments against the invoice and read the status there
Instead of: Making separate PDF and shareable versions
You can: Use the same invoice record for preview, PDF and the public link
Instead of: Rewriting a follow-up message from memory
You can: Start from a ready follow-up message you can adjust and copy
Invoices connect completed work to payment
Projects define the engagement, milestones define what becomes billable, invoices communicate the amount due, and recorded payments close the loop — with the invoice kept alongside the project history.
Who this is for
Independent professionals who deliver client work, invoice against defined scope or milestones, and track payment themselves.
Questions about invoicing
Can I create an invoice from a project milestone?
Yes. From a milestone you can create a linked invoice, and the milestone’s amount carries into it so you don’t retype figures.
Can I customise the invoice details?
Yes. You control the number, title, due date, line items (name, quantity, unit price), notes and payment instructions.
Can I use different currencies?
Yes. Each invoice has its own currency — INR, USD, GBP, EUR, AED, AUD, CAD or SGD.
Can I add tax?
Yes. You can apply a GST percentage, which is included in the invoice total and the PDF. Remex does not file taxes or guarantee regulatory compliance.
Can I download an invoice as a PDF?
Yes. You can preview an invoice and download it as a PDF generated from the same record.
Can I share an invoice with a client?
Yes. You can share a public link the client opens without an account, showing the same invoice data as the PDF.
Can I record partial payments?
Yes. You can record full or partial payments with an amount, date and method, and the outstanding balance updates.
How does Remex decide whether an invoice is paid?
Status is based on the invoice details and the payments you record in Remex. When recorded payments cover the total, it becomes paid; before that it can be partial or overdue. Remex does not connect to your bank or process payments.
